“Who am I?”
A question that appears simple, yet holds the power to awaken the deepest truths within us.
Beyond religion, beyond roles, beyond body and mind — this enquiry begins the inner journey. It is not about becoming something new; it’s about discovering what we’ve always been.
We are taught to believe:

I am this body

I am my thoughts

I am my career
-
I am this name
But everything we identify with — body, thoughts, roles — constantly changes. And yet, something within remains unchanged. That silent observer is who we truly are.
“That which changes is not you. That which witnesses change — is you.”
To discover the truth, we must peel away what we are not:

Not the body — it changes

Not the mind — it fluctuates

Not the senses — they come and go
When we let go of these false identities, silence remains. In that silence, the truth begins to shine.
Self-inquiry is the path of turning inward.
Instead of chasing answers, you simply ask:
“Who is thinking this thought?”
“Who is feeling this emotion?”
The answer always points to “me.” But who is this “me”?
As you trace the sense of “I” back to its root, the ego dissolves. What remains is pure awareness — silent, spacious, free.
When you stop identifying with the mind and ego, you begin to live in freedom.
You are not limited by your past, nor afraid of the future.
There is no one to defend, no image to protect.
You begin to experience deep peace, because you’re no longer chasing an identity — you’re resting in your true nature.
Spirituality doesn’t mean running away from life.
It means living fully with awareness.

Even the simplest act — drinking tea, walking, breathing — becomes sacred when done with awareness.
You are not your thoughts.
You are not your name or your story.
You are the presence behind all of it — the unchanging witness.
Be still.
Be aware.
You are not becoming something.
You are simply remembering what you’ve always been.
